Some people think Apple software updates are tweaked to decrease camera quality on old phones. But this has not been found to be the case. The answer is simply that Apple uses low quality plastic lenses in iphone 10,11,12 and 13 as the optics in iPhones that degrades and easily scratch. Apple has narrowed the gap to the competion with Iphone 14Pro’s low-quality Sapphire crystal for the rear cameras, but are still way behind the top end camera-smartphones and it also had numerous quality issues with “coating-crack” on the lenses.
