Company ASUS is focusing on providing innovative technology for creative professionals.
The upcoming “Studio book” and “Vivobook” will get a display-tech second to none. Not only do these machines support full gamut coverage of adobe RGB, DCI-P3, and sRGB. They will also have deep true blacks and infinite contrast due to the use of OLED displays. All are packaged in 16-inch modern bezel-less 16:10 display form-factor with CNC milled military grade (US MIL-STD 810H) aluminum bodies at 5.2 lbs.
The will run on the world’s currently fastest mobile CPU, Intel® Core™ i9-13980HX able to run 32 Threads at 5.6 GHz, and a powerful GPU Nvidia 4070 with 8GB DDR6 memory.
The screen of these laptops will however not only be able to design and view in 2D OLED.. But also with true, high-quality glasses-less 3D (supported for up to 2 persons viewing the screen at once). The screen uses AI and eye-tracking to display two OLED images at a full 120Hz to the left and right eye, to give users that magic 3D view.
This 3D can be combined with 3D in the air styluses, it can be used to view movies, 3D designs, gaming, etc. And who knows, maybe some people even will use these displays to watch things like porn in 3D?
The target audience is likely designers, artists, and creators on the leading edge. We assume this can be a useful complement or in some cases even a replacement tech for bulky headsets from Vivo, Meta/Oculus, Apple (upcoming), etc.
The thing with these laptops is that even without the revolutionary 3D display tech, they are top-of-line designer-focused laptops including other unique features like an innovative dial for additional control in creator tools, something much more useful than the now abandoned Touch Bar of Macs.
Pricing is still unclear but they are likely to be priced in Macbook Pro M2 Max with similar SSD, RAM, etc. territory.
