If Steve Jobs learned about Apple´s inability to make progress in Artificial intelligence, he would not be happy. When Amazon Alexa, Google Voice, Google translate, Chat GTP, Microsoft with Bing, AMD, Intel, Nvidia, IBM, Huawei, Baidu, TikTok, and others are leaps and bounds in front of Apple… Apple struggles to get Siri to not like the stupid blonde still holding on to her iPhone despite modern more intelligent Android devices.
So how can Apple fix this?? AI research is unattracted by Apple’s non-sharing, un-openess, and non-academic company culture. Hardware designers are likewise unimpressed with Apple’s focus on marketing and form rather than powerful cooperation with the developer community.
Apple needs to take a step back and abandon a lot of what made it successful in the touch-screen-phone revolution and see what could make it successful in today’s environment… But are current Apple management able to make progress just by buying a better screen and camera for their latest phone, and copying the latest innovations introduced by competing phone-brands from China?
Will they.. Lets hope Apple can make a fresh start.
