Let’s summarize the most credible leaks and rumors currently

§1 New Macbook Air with 15-inch screen, notch-less and almost bezel-less 16:10 screen. Improved M3 (or M2+) CPU using TSMCs celebrated 3nm technology. Initial leaked testing (unconfirmed) indicates 30 hours of video playback on the go!

§2 Macbook Pro with two CPU alternatives the 10/10 core/threads version of the 5nm M2 CPU. Possibly 20-30% faster than today’s M1 Pro chip, with only a slight hit on battery/watt.

The Max version will feature a 12/12 core/threads CPU version and leaked benchmarks have indicated this is the tried and trusted 5nm M2 node with a respectable cinebench score of 15515 according to Nanoreview. This is not far behind intel 12th gen 16/24-core/threaded i9 (median benchmark 23150) . It’s even more behind Intel current chip-sets (posting over 32000 without overcklocking)

Keep in mind M2 has no Hyperthreading and fever cores in total, so for people doing most of their CPU-intensive work outdoors, and remote places or war zones where power is unstable or non-existent, the battery times of Apple with fewer cores and threads will give the battery some relief.

The Pro’s will come in 14-inch and 16-inch versions (according to leakers) and will feature mini-led displays (liquid-retina) without cutouts for the webcam to provide a full-screen experience.

§3 Mac Mini, supposedly features the same 10/10 M2 CPU as the new Macbook Pro at a slightly higher speed due to improved cooling and fewer power restrictions.
